Re: Highlander Orange Interior

Alan, I just found this out last night while looking for Highlander stuff on this site. A co. called sms fabrics makes the fabric. ph.503-263-3535. they also have a website but I didn't get it. I saw where it was $85 a yd and takes about a yd & 1/4. Would you happen to have any idea if the Highlander option is rare or not? Are there any production #'s anywhere? I''m about to do a thread trying to find out something on this package. Chuck.

I requested (on-line) a sample of the cloth for my '69 and got it in the mail after a week or so. Same company as listed in the post. Click on the link and the sample request tab is there. Use it. It will work.

Re: Highlander Orange Interior

I got a sample of the green Highlander plaid from SMS last month. It was really nice quality - I'll be getting a couple yards next spring.

You guys are quick...thanks for the heads up!

As far as build numbers on the Highlander...I do not have any idea and I am not sure if Chevrolet kept such numbers??? I am still researching.

Thanks for the help...

Re: Highlander Orange Interior

No figures on options were kept.It wasn`t a production model, but a first time grouping of options at a special price. They`ve been doing it since.
Getting the plaid is the first and easiest. The harder and the part that makes an original looking cover expensive is the vinyl with scroll. Is that available?I figure I`d need to buy a Cheyenne Super cover, enough plaid, and take it to my stitcher to do his stuff. It would already more to buy the cloth and have a cover made with bullhide parchment vinyl.
I`m selling my Highlander,so I`m not bothering with the seat now.(mine`s rare)

SMS also sent a sample of the parchment vinyl and it was a nice match. Someone on this forum posted that the scroll embossing that they did for him wasn't pronounced enough to match the originals though.

Re: Highlander Orange Interior

I thought I saw that where someone got the scroll.Of course, that would be expensive material, too.
