Bench seat that fits well?

Hi, I just bought a 64 chevy pickup, and it has not got the original seat. It has a "ride like a couch" Chrysler 5th avenue seat in it, which is really comfortable, but it's worn grey velvet and looks pretty bad. It is also too narrow for the truck. I did a search, but didn't find many pictures of plain old benches, mostly the new buckets with the integrated belts (don't want those). Any pics or anything at all would be great. Thanks!

Re: Bench seat that fits well?

I was wondering about this myself. My springs are sagging under my left butt cheek in my stock bench. It is a good comfortable bench, and the top has been recovered, but unfortunately the springs are bad. I think any at the junkyard will be the same. I haven't seen them reproduced either.

Re: Bench seat that fits well?

I picked up an early 90's Chevy 1/2 ton bench for my '63 and it nearly bolted right in to the existing holes . You can get them with or without headrests . I have been very happy with that modification .

I have the sagging left cheek spring problem too.
My upholstery is in great shape, so it would be nice to fix rather than replace.
Anybody here ever try these repair springs?

Re: Bench seat that fits well?

Here is my orginal 65 bench, with black leather. The pattern follows the original cloth seat cover to try and keep some of the original look. Bought the hides on e-bay.

Re: Bench seat that fits well?

Thanks for the help guys! I have a selection of free full-size Dodge utility van seats I could have, but I'm not too sure how one will fit. I'm going to measure them up, but if all else fails I'll pick up an 88-98 regular bench and have it re-covered. Thanks!
