inner fender removal
Doesn't removing inner fenders create lots of dust in the engine bay? I see some guys who just leave them out and drive truck as normal.

Re: inner fender removal
It's certainly questionable whether a truck without fenderwells can really be driven daily and not turn to crap.
Every pebble and rock in the tire treads will be thrown against the underside of the hood. All the dust and mud too. Bad deal overall.

Re: inner fender removal
Ive been runnin w/out inners for a few. I need to get new ones . Reason I pulled them is I was gonna repair the cancer and make it MUCH easier to align the front end But yea,, ya do get road grim all over the place.

Re: inner fender removal
That is the reason why alot of people use trailer fenders for there inner fenders. It won't get rid of the grime but will help reduce it.

Re: inner fender removal
I haven't run mine since I took mine out, but I wash my truck every week (at least) so I don't think it'll be that big of deal

Re: inner fender removal
As soon as a good sized rock comes off the tire and hits the bottom of your nicely painted hood, leaving an outward dent on the hood, the value of fenderwells will become clear.

Re: inner fender removal
I'm sure
I plan to build some out of trailer fenders some time, but right now I'm not even driving the truck But that is a good point |

Re: inner fender removal
I'm getting some new ones next week that I'm going to modify to fit... but without them I constantly find rocks laying on my intake manifold.

Re: inner fender removal
I have run without inners for about 5 years now on my DD. Yes its dirty but I haven't had any problems running without them, makes all sorts of jobs easier changing plugs, doing tune ups, changing header gaskets, wheel alignments a piece of cake you just get in with the engine and go to work.
Only issue I have found is you really need to avoid big puddles of water when its raining cos if you hit them at speed it drowns the carb and dissy. Also you will need to make a set of deflectors to go behind the headlight to stop water filling up the headlight buckets.
