How is it in the way? On the '72 I used to own, I took the z-bar off, cut the lower bar off and altered the bend and rewelded it in a differant location (slightly inward). You may have to change to some shorty blockhugger headers if you cant alter the z-bar.

Re: 67 prob

Some headers clear, some don`t.3/4 length run right into it,can`t use at all.Is it the tube or just the lower arn in the way?I`ve cut the lower arm and re-welded out of the way.I`ve seen others where you can move the mount on the frame a bit. That`s a ball socker on the block end and the frame end pivots, too. You can run a bit of an angle with no binding. Are you mounting the V8 in the I6 position or the forward V8 position?I move the motor mount towers to the V8 position and get a longer driveshaft made.Keeps the motor out of the cowl, too. There are different brackets (factory) that offset the z-bar mount on the block according to what configuration the truck had.The V8 and I6 shifter linkage is different lengths.

"Bump" is the same as ttt, or to the top. I relocates your thread back to the top of the forum in the hope that it generates more replies.
