At what point do you have to c notch frame

I have been reading all the post here and have been impressed with all that i have read.i have 70 s.w.b with 350 . i want to lower it 4 1/2 in front and 5'' in rear at this drop will i have to c notch the frame? also any problems with alinment and what width front and rear rims can i use without tire rub ?

Should be o.k. on alignment. 5'' is when you start getting into the area where a notch is good idea. A few of us have 6'' drop rears without a notch. If you're not planning on hauling anything I personally wouldn't bother.

Thanks for the info. I will just put a notch in while i have the frame out.I have seen a lot of post were rear wheels are 10'' and fonts are 8" .this may be dumb questions but i have never done a truck like this . do these fit ok on stock rear ends ? If so do they just bolt on or do you have to use spacers ect.
