converting 3/4 to 1 ton.....?

Well since the high price of fuel and the high prices of new 4 door 1 ton trucks ,I've decided to build my own taking a 3/4 ton 1986 4 door and puttin on a custom flatbed. Whats the difference between the 3/4 and the 1 ton? The rear springs, front spindles, front coils, and dually rims? Any ideas for air bag usage for upgrading the the stock 3/4 to suspension? . thanks for any ideas
