Yes.....Like to see some low static drops with wheel/tire sizes, maybe offsets, and any probs with it being that low.

Re: 5/7 Drop

I have a 5-inch drop on the front but I have not lowered the rear yet but for the front I
installed 2.5 inch drop spindles, 1.5 inch control arms and 1-inch drop springs (actually cut 1/2 round totaling 5-inches!

The frontal shot is on my profile but i cannot seem to find the best photo of it.

Is your truck on a different chassis or is has it ever been cut down from a LWB? I only ask because the bed and cab are misaligned. I'm not knocking it, its a great looking truck, I was just curious. I've seen several like that lately, and just wondered why they are like that.

Most of our trucks require shims under the cab and rad support to address alignment issues. On all of the trucks I've seen, the box fits higher than the cab. Because you can't adjust the box down, you need to adjust the cab up to fit the box, then the rad support will generally need to be shimmed depending on how much the front of the cab came up.

Re: 5/7 Drop

Oh, OK. That makes sense. I had trouble with this when I mounted the bed on my '67 C-30. I cut the frame to 127" wheelbase and I added a bed to a cab and chassis truck that never had one from the factory. I measured stock bed mounts, but I ended up having to make mine about an inch shorter to make the body line on the cab and bed line up.

Re: 5/7 Drop

Here is my 72 gmc with a 5/7 drop. Front has 3" belltech drop spindles & 2" eaton drop coils. Rear has original leafs that were de-arched 7". I can't remember for sure but I think 1 or 2 leafs were also removed. I also c-notched the frame. I'm using kyb shocks all around. Wheels/tires are 18x8 with 255/35/18 and 18x10 with 285/35/18. Hope this helps.

Re: 5/7 Drop

I wonder if I would have rub issues with the 5/7.

I think tire size and wheel offset are the biggest issues. I can't remember the offset on my wheels but even with the 35 series tire - which is pretty low profile - I have no rubbing issues. I can turn all the way left and right with no problems. I was actually suprised at how well the truck rides with that drop and low profile tires. I've only put on about 100 miles on this truck since the resto, but have not bottomed out or scraped the exhaust on anything.

Re: 5/7 Drop

F= 2.5" Spindles + 1-coil cut from original springs; 15x6.5 van ralleys w/215/75-15's (27.7" tall).
R= 2600# bags, 1.5" blocks, modified rear shock brackets, bolt-in c-notch, adj panhard bar, hole in the bed-wood just above the rear-pumpkin; 15x8" truck ralleys w/255/70-15's (29.0" tall).

Exhaust professionally 'plumbed' & tucked-up within an inch of the body & front sway bar mounted directly to frame rails vs. sway-bar stanchions. Front tires buzzed the inner wells on big bumps/dips (especially @ high speeds).
