My key works the ignition and the door locks. You could pull a door lock and take it to a locksmith. Hope the same key works.

If all else fails, get a slide hammer, screw it in the key slot, and you should be able to yank the tumbler assembly out (don't ask me how I know. )...but that could also very well ruin the whole switch. So I'd go with Buster's idea first.

A screw driver.
A hammer. ViseGrips. An allen wrench. Some nasty words. Insert screw driver into ign hole. Tap with the hammer. Grab screw driver with ViseGrips. Twist back and forth untill it goes to the acc position. (insert 4 letter words as you twist the **** thing back and forth) Once in the Acc position, insert allen wrench into the littl hole on the ignition switch and turn it further counter clockwise as you press on the allen wrench. Again...more 4 letter words may come in handy. Eventually, it will all pop out in your hand. Also, if the screwdriver pops out and cuts up your finger, the ViseGrips can be used to stop the bleeding. Just crimp it below the wound, but not on a knuckle. |

It took a while, but my GMC came without keys...at least, keys that fit that truck anyways. Thats how I got mine done. If you need to drive it ASAP, you could unplug the switch, and plug in another one and just let it dangle. I drove like that for a month before I got sick of it and did this screwdriver/cuss thing.
