Opinions please!?!
I saw this truck sitting for sale today. It's an 80 short fleet with dual tanks. Power door on drivers side and manual on passengers side so I'm not sure which is factory. Tilt column, the interior isn't real nice but it isn't completely torn apart either. Some dings and a few small dents here and there but VERY little rust, The bed floor and cab corners look perfect. The hood has been stripped and is covered in surface rust. Grille and front bumper look good, no rear bumper. Sign says new motor and trans. and the flowmaster duals look pretty fresh, Drop shackles and removed leafs in the rear and cut springs in front. Good BFG tires. The sign says 2000.00 do you guys think it's something I should look into further? I feel like it should be a reasonable price but what does everyone else think?

Re: Opinions please!?!
Mike,
I think that Price may be a Tad Bit High, I have seen Some Pretty Nice Square Bodies Going For Two Grand. It Does Look like a Good Starter Truck & If the Motor & Tranny are Truly New it will make it a Better Deal. Good Luck with Your Decision.......... Rick

Re: Opinions please!?!
This is just my opinion, but I think $2000 is kinda high for the shape the body is in based on the pics.

Re: Opinions please!?!
I tend to agree. But depending on the rebuild of the motor and tranny it could be an "ok" buy.

Re: Opinions please!?!
If i were in the market, i'd probably offer 1200 and pay no more than 1500.

Re: Opinions please!?!
2000 seems a bit high. Down the road from us there's a SWB with no rust for $995 which I think is a steal!!!

Re: Opinions please!?!
OKay heres my opinion i think everyone else is on track about the price!
However..............the eng & trans could be built up so id call and find that out 1st. It look's like he has a '90 C10 seat installed in it. Also everyone knows that the price is allways higher cuz the owner knows he'll be talked down i'd go 500 bux down and i'd say it's a good buy. Test drive that biothc and see for your self and go from there. Last edited by 87 STEPPER; 11-28-2007 at 08:42 PM. |

Re: Opinions please!?!
Now I'm going to go a different route than everyone else, because I actually agree on the price. I think it's a decent price, provided that the motor and tranny are in good shape. If I had the cash, I would jump on that buy!

Re: Opinions please!?!
Here in the Jax Fl. area truck prices have really dropped recently. There are a lot of good deals out there.Like the one I picked up 1500.00.Even with gas prices it would be worth driving a distance to pick something up.Man I have to get this thing lowered I'm getting a nose bleed just looking at it.LOL

Re: Opinions please!?!
I have to agree... Judging from the pics, it looks like there could be a whole lot of headaches lurking there. I would try to find something that hasn't been "molested".

Re: Opinions please!?!
Thanks for the opinions guys. I'll mull it over a little and maybe call and take a closer look/test drive. I know it's not a steal or it wouldn't still be there so I'm not going to get in a hurry, It's not exactly what I'm looking for to start with. I'll let you know what happens

Re: Opinions please!?!
I know how you feel. You're out driving around, not looking for anything (or even worse - you are looking for something), then you spot a Chevy truck for sale... Hey, what's that? I wonder how much they want? I wonder what motor it's got in it? Maybe I should buy it... It would make a great project and so on. I do that constantly but usually stop myself. There's a good looking 82'ish shortbox with a big block for sale in the area I work. Everytime I see it I have to tell myself - No, I don't need it. It's truly an addiction.

Re: Opinions please!?!
I think you could do better just watching the Houston Craigslist. A lot of the trucks posted are garbage, but there are some decent deals too.
