How low with a cpp c-notch
I wanted to know how much can I lower my 69 Suburban with a cpp c-notch, It states that I need one for a 4" to 5" drop in the rear, I want to go 6.5" to 7". will this work? If I need a taller notch, who makes one with the correct frame shape.

Re: How low with a cpp c-notch
You should have no problem at all with a c-notch and a 7" drop. The pumpkin on the rear end will bottom out on the floor long before the axle bottoms out in the notch. I have air bags on my truck and wanted to "slam" it as much as possible so I bought a short compact-style bumpstop to install in the notch. To make a long story short, I had to use a taller bump stop because of the differential.

Re: How low with a cpp c-notch
I have a 8" static drop in the back of my truck right now with a CPP bolt-in c-notch and it rides great. No clearance problems.

Re: How low with a cpp c-notch
Unlike the truck bed, the Suburban floor will limit pretty quickly, IIRC.

Re: How low with a cpp c-notch
Pumpkin will hit bed floor before you use all of a c-notch. Wood bed is worse than steel bed, but both are affected.

Re: How low with a cpp c-notch
XXL is correct, it will hit the floor before you bottom out in the notch. You could get some taller bump-stops to keep it from hitting, it would still get you about 1.5-2 inches lower than no notch.

Re: How low with a cpp c-notch
It's not that bad, with the exception of getting the rivets out of the way. Rokcrln did a good how-to on here, the directions that come with it SUCK!

Re: How low with a cpp c-notch
For what it's worth,I built my own 2.5" notch and when aired out there's 1/8" clearance between the axle and notch (no bumpstops just yet) and the dif sticks through the bed floor 3/4".

Re: How low with a cpp c-notch
Why? There's no gain in clearance beyond what you get with the CPP-type bolt-in.
