wiper check
Is there any trick to check and see if the wiper motor is toast or if its the switch. Mine are dead as a doornail! I want to be able to trace the problem without having to fight all day on it. ANY help is much appreciated.
Thanks! Mike

Re: wiper check
just remember the switch grounds the circuit, through the dash.
there are 2 windings in the motor, one for slow and another for "fast" (LOL) in fast mode it grounds both. after you turn the switch off the slow stays engaged until it reaches the park position. (the motor maintains a ground in itself via the copper strip on the large gear) if it shuts off as soon as you turn the switch off and blades stay up I would check to make sure the motor has a good ground. keep in mind all the body stuff (all lighting, gauges, radio, wipers etc.) ground back to the battery via the small wire near the battery on the radiator support. |

I conducted a search but I did not see this. Thanks VetteVet for posting this up. Perfect for what I need to do.

Re: wiper check
68c15, do you have a picture of this small wire that is near the battery on the radiator support. The only grounds that I have are motor to frame, starter to battery and that will just about do it. I'm working on my other grounds as I get to them. Thanks...
