Went to the track

Went to the track last night for the last time this year. Didn't go any faster. stuck at 13.7s 98mph . I did set my camera on the top of the seat and taped it to the back window and recorded a run. The sound is bad and it is dark but still cool..http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...t=MVI_1019.flv

Re: Went to the track

Looks like you tree'd him.Not too shabby for a fairly stock lookinng truck. You also have some options that rob a little power, but it looks like a comfortable cruising package.Trucks are like tools.when you have a multi use tool it usually doesn't do any of them well.A multi use street driven truck probably will never knock down 9's unless you have a water cooled bank account.

Re: Went to the track

What's the rundown on your big block? Factory converter or aftermarket? Rear End gear? The reason I ask is my '72 LWB is running 13.30's and I can't seem to make it go any faster.....yet.

It's the original 402 .030 over TRW forged pistons ,comp ratio 10.8,The rods resized and arp bolts ,The heads have some port matching and valve area work, Traded the cast crank and some $ for a steel 427 unit, I went with a comp cams hyd roller .566 lift 270 duration 215@.050 I bought the k-kit witch comes with cam, lifters, springs, locks, retainers, pushrods, timimg chain and gear. I also got the pro magnum roller rockers, edelbrock rpm intake,750 holley mec sec carb. MSD dizzy & 6AL box ,timing 35 total. 12inch converter witch is supose to stall 1800 BUT DOES NOT, in the th400. New eaton posi 3.73 gears, p275/60 mt dragradial..

Re: Went to the track

Nice lookin spec sheet. I've got a few cubes on ya with my '72 (454 bored ".060) but have less compression (8.5:1) and a hydraulic cam (Lunati Brackmaster II, 292, ".544 lift). I also have a converter advertised to stall at 2800, but doesn't want to.
