I am trying to find some rear spring shackle bushings for my 72 K5 (the ones that go between the shackle and the frame). I was hoping to walk into one of the local parts stores and pick them up, but so far no luck. Does anyone know a part number from one of these places. When I ask the counter guys, they just look at me and say "Uhh...sorry, the computer only goes back to 1973". My next resort would be ordering them online, but in the interest of time I was hoping to pick them up locally.

www.prothane.com. just looked at the catalog, seems there are two sizes, 1 3/8" and 1 1/2". It's on pages 29-32. If your looking for rubber mounts, I haven't seen any sites

Replaced my shackle bushings on my 70 Blazer and they are 1 1/2" which are the same as my 86 Chevy is. Went with Energy Suspension urethane bushings. You can get them by themselves or as a kit that includes spring bushings.

Thanks guys. I was kinda hoping to go with a factory style rubber bushing for this. I have urethane upfront where there is a lot of oil, but thought the rubber might be nice in the back for a slightly better ride, maybe not. Plus I am tired of ordering things and waiting on them. Is there anyway of telling if it is the 1 3/8 or 1 1/2? I can't see much with it installed and was hoping to have all the parts collected before I tore it down. Maybe it if is the 1 1/2 I can go into the store and say I need on for a 1985 K10? Thanks again.

Just remember that you will probably need a torch to remove your old ones. I used a small propane torch to burn most of the rubber bushing out and then used a hack saw to cut the metal sleeve so that i could pound it out since i dont have a cutting setup. If you want rubber ones they should be the same as 73-87 as long as you get 1 1/2 inch bushings.

If you still need shackle bushing you can order the whole shackle and bushing assy for gmpartsdirect.com, their like 12.00 each. Just get the p/n from a chevy dealer.

Does any body know a GM part number for the entire shackle assembly? I can't get any of the punks around here to look up a part# for me (they give up after 30 seconds when the computer doesn't automatically spit out a #). After studing my original shackles, they look pretty worn out, I might as well replace them now especially if they come with bushings. Thanks guys.
