Like the topic says, I have a 72LWB with a steel floor that is kinda rusty, and I figure wood would be a nice touch. What is involved in swapping to a wood floor? The rest of the bed is fine, it's just the floor and the underside supports.

I will be interested in what others say on this topic also. I have the same situation with my bed and think it would add a nice touch too. I have at least one support underneath (Rear) that is rusted and just the bed floor. From what I understand, the rear support gets replaced with a wood one anyways?

You'll need a wood floor headgate and all the cross members for starters, plus wood and strips and bolts

I looked into it in a few catalogs as well and that's what I figured too. Thanks guys! If I can't fix what I have, I now know how to upgrade.

Are the bedsides the same? I'm thinking of the inside where the wood attaches to the sides. Any difference in heights from the top?

The bedsides are exactly the same.

Why not build it in your garage and mount it in with a few bolts.
