under floor master cyl with V-8 Swap

I have just completed the v-8 install on my 1947 panel truck. The front end is the TCI mustang II. I was hoping to use the stock brake pedal with a new under floor booster, but i think the engine block will be in the way. if anyone has a picture of theirs, let me know. all suggestions are welcome. thanks

Re: under floor master cyl with V-8 Swap

Im going with an LS1 motor and 700 trans the stock pedal would be nice but the headers dump and end right there, along with the trans linkage from the column shifter, along with exhaust system running down there also by the booster itself, not to say when u get to the interior shop rather have a nice smooth floor to work with. Brothers, Classic performance products has one that Im going with, which will mount on the firewall between the two ribs on the truck firewall they give u a spacer because if you look at the center line where the column is and the two ribs on the firewall its off just alittle the sapcer will allow u to flush mount the brake booster between the ribs, mounts in exsisting dash and firewall support bracket under steeering column. Plus i really dont want to get under the truck to work on my brake system having an air ride on also, would be a pain.

it's pretty tight under there with the v8. have you seen the kugel 90 degree one that mount under the dash? pretty slick imho, keeps the firewall clean and you don't have to crawl under to sevice system. they used similar setups on early 70's ford vans.

what I did was modify my stock pedal assembly & bolted a 3/4ton Chevy truck booster & MC to it &&& I'm running a Caddy Combo. You can see more by clicking on Large Marge below.

Re: under floor master cyl with V-8 Swap

I just bought the ECI brake adapter and bought a 68 mustang dual master cylinder for mine. Here's a picture with the stock pedal assembly:

Re: under floor master cyl with V-8 Swap

Here is some pics of one we just did on a 1950 truck. It is probably is too close but may be some help. Everything on this truck was stock. Photo does not show it completed.
