89-93 350 motor question

hey guys,

I've got a stock 350 that came from a tbi 89-93 vehicle. Im pulling the stock heads and im debating putting in a mild cam to improve performance. The engine currently has a stock intake and spread board carb (600cfm?)

should i spend the money on a new intake? will it give me a lot more torque than the stock one?

How bad are the original heads on this motor? will a mild cam show much improvement at all??
