Brakes! ahhhh

I was thinking about adding power brakes to a 72 chevy half ton that didn't come out with them. I have all the parts from a 79 which is beyond repair. The motor is from an 84 chevy which I believe is a 305. the intake is an Edelbrock performer intake topped with a performer 750 cfm carb. will the parts change over onto the truck without modifying to much? and will it have enough vaccumm for it to work right?and dumb question but exactly which parts do I need to take off of the one to make it work right? any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Dan

Hey Xman! Welcome to the board.!

I just completed the disk upgrade that you are attempting. It isn't hard at all IF and ONLY IF you get the right bracket for the firewall and the supporting rods and such. Check out the following post which talks more about it, but I don't think your spare parts from 84 are any good without MAJOR fabrication of brackets and such. I'd go the route of the bracket and booster from a junkyard. It's a simple bolt on process that way....

Email me if you want some additional help!

Oh yeah, i forgot, regarding the edlebrock and the vaccum situation, shouldn't be a problem. I'm running edlebrock on my 72 truck with no issues at all AND plenty of vaccum.

The booster has a little leak (and won't hold for more than 30 seconds without vaccum), but it doesn't bother me. I can still stop the truck should it ever stall out...
