quick ratio steering box - manual steering

Is there some steering box to make my '71 2wd GMC not need so many turns when steering? I know on Mopar cars you can get an AAR or T/A Steering pitman arm and it makes it have quicker steering but I was unsure if there is something for these trucks.

Don't know about the box but keep in mind that the effort to turn the steering wheel will go up in proportion to the decrease in the amount you'll need to turn the steering wheel to turn.

That is fine, just don't like turning it so much, seems like I spin it about 720 degrees when parking.

I think Classic Heartbeat may have these. Good Luck.

Re: quick ratio steering box - manual steering

I've been told that the steering gearbox from the 1998 body style jeep grand cherokee will bolt right up.It's quick ratio like what you're looking(like 2.5 turns lock to lock i think).I've found it for $50.00 bucks in a local junk yard but not sure yet if it'll work yet.my buddy bought one for his 72 chevelle and its on the car.not sure if his is from a jeep but he's the one that told me about it,and his research seems to be accurate.when i find out for sure, i'll pass it on to you if interested?(not sure if you're looking new or used,or even want to replace the entire gearbox?)
