Cab Lights

Is there a difference in cabs with cab lights from the factory and cabs w/o cab lights? It seems that I remember the roof being raised up at each light?

Has anyone installed the correct style light on a non-light roof?

Re: Cab Lights

Yes, the fcatory style after '68 have raised bosses. 67-68 had no cab lights installed from the factory. They were either dealer installed or aftermarket. My '69 C-30 car hauler has the factory ones like otsenre, my '67 C-50 wrecker has dealer installed cab lights, and my '67 C-30 never had any at all.

Re: Cab Lights

BTW, Joesjunk installed factory style lights on a regular cab on the truck below.

Re: Cab Lights

in 68 the factory instaled clearance lights... they were required when you got the Daul Rear Wheel option.

Re: Cab Lights

The`69-up lamps that were installed on those raised bosses fit perfectly on the other tops.I`ve done it,too.Makes me wonder why they bothered making a special panel in the first place. They`d never throw money away like that today.A sign of the times,I guess.

Re: Cab Lights

I built my short bed out of an old 1 ton. Here are the raised pads. I just removed the lights and cut aluminum circles and sealed them shut with silicone and the original screws. If you saw the rest of the truck, you'd understand why I didn't bother to do anything nicer.

Re: Cab Lights

I know LMC truck sells the factory style lights, and I think they sell the harnesses too.
