What did you get done? 12/09

I was on call this weekend so didn't get to work on anything. Friday night we put the Christmas tree up and did the family thing. We watched our favorite classic, Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase.

Saturday I watched my daughter play volleyball in their second tournament this year. Today I ran service calls and did some shopping.

What did you get done?

Re: What did you get done? 12/09

Worked til 4am, played on the internet til 7am, went to sleep then the old lady woke me up at 10:30 and I couldn't go back to sleep. So I did the manly thing and did laundry and cleaned house all day long. Then got ready for work at 7... which is where I am now. I can't get motivated to work outside if its colder than 70 degrees, so I guess i'm in hibernation until April.

Trout fishing on the White River 8am-12pm, limited out. Replaced water pump on a buddies '04 Yukon 3pm-7pm, piece of cake. New alternator in the '87 at 8pm. Lots of sleep.

Re: What did you get done? 12/09

Friday I took delivery of a hood in very good shape that was on an eBay auction a few weeks ago. Apparently the winner didn't fork over any money, so I made the guy an offer and he got back in touch with me. Hood looks pretty good, other than it being orange. I think I'm going to order braces for it tomorrow from JC Whitney so I don't put a big ol kink in this one.

Followed the wife around the mall yesterday. Crowded frenzy shopping just ain't my thing, so that wasn't much fun.

Today I finished a new forum theme for my uncle's 4x4 club website. Not a bad day, other than the Titans blowing a game to the Chargers. Sheesh.

Re: What did you get done? 12/09

I went with my body man to pick up a '89 swb regular cab he bought. I used an air chisel on his '56 Chevy. I got rid of everything from the door to his frame rail that he is going to replace later

Drove the truck. Thats about it. Just studying for finals and being lazy when I can. Hoping I can finish the semester off with some decent grades then make some progress on the truck over the Christmas break.

Re: What did you get done? 12/09

Saturday December 8th, 2007: Pulled the intake back off to put the new brass fitting in the block for the sensors. Installed the fuel rail assembly and hooked up the rear feed fuel supply and return lines. Definitely not going to run an EGR due to no room, so I have to make a block-off for it. Ordered a water outlet.

Sunday December 9th, 2007:Picked up the water neck (gotta paint it) and then searched all local stores for the parts to rebuild the 85 TPI distributor, with no luck.

Re: What did you get done? 12/09

I managed to fix my brake booster vacuum leak with a free part I got from the junkyard...made a world of difference. My brakes work great and the motor idles MUCH smoother, I had to turn the radio off to make sure it was still running.

Re: What did you get done? 12/09

The new grille and headlight bezels for the 83 came in Thursday evening. So Friday morning I installed those and some new headlights, then I painted the inside of the passenger door that I had replaced and cleaned up and re-installed that door panel, and replaced the LH tail light housing. All this while my girl was scrubbing the inside and cleaning out the truck bed. I'll post pics later...
