Re: Pics of my 69.... Hopefully

Nice truck.....Ice Wow....No Ice here in Miami.

Had my glass in-line fuel filter in the same location and a board member bought to my attention that this was not a wise location. Vibration and possibly hitting the valve cover or alternator could crack it and cause fire...go boom.

Re: Pics of my 69.... Hopefully

Yeah it was full of crap so i changed it to a metal one.... i put the glass one on so i could ensure it was getting fuel. when i got the truck 10 months ago it had not run in 6 years and i pulled it out of a farm field so i put the glass one on there to ensure it was getting gas...
THANKS FOR THE LOOK OUT THOUGH!!!

Looks like a solid project. What kind of plans do you have for it? Did you get your carb straightened out?

Re: Pics of my 69.... Hopefully

yep had notice I said Had one of them in line fule filter on my daily driver for 5 years. always read about "better not use that style" and my stubburn aged mind said HA it's fine. SO to make this real short last friday I drove off Airport parking when I got backto town paid parking fee thinking wow it sure smells gassy in the cab, thinking I'll check it out when I get home off the interstate heck its only 10 miles. HA well I went a block and the gas smell was not going away I pulled over and got out of the truck I couldnt smell it any more so this told me pop the hood and take a look. I found I was and had just pumped about $8.00 of gas right onto the header and well yep when I pulled over I tightened the in line filter with a wrench drove home pulled the whole fuel line off from pump to carb and its in the trash. replaced with (i know over kill but it was left over) steal braided fule line. looks sharp to. so yep listen to suggestion here dont run that type of in line filter. it will go boom

I wouldn't sell it. Just drive it on down, or let the Army move if for you. We need more of them here in TX.
