Is it possible to take a 350 from an 1980 buick and drop it into my 1982 gmc truck. The truck does not have an overdrive tranny if this helps. Will the truck tranny bolt up? Will the motor mounts line up? Is there anything else I should know etc.

I havent tried that one, but you can put it in. The bell pattern is different on the chev vs the bop(buick, ponch, Olds, & cad). you can mate the eng to the trans with an adaptor fron TCI, or Trans Dapt. you will be into fabrication on eng mounts & placement , as nothing will bolt up to the chev pcs. I have run both olds & caddy in the longhorn, & could help with that, but be aware that you will be doing some time with the welder. It sounds like an interesting swap to me......maybe sombody has done one. good luck....crazy AL

So has anyone here put a buick engine in a truck, I guess it's not as easy as I had planned, I was going to do it here on the weekend! There is still time for me to do it by monday afternoon if it's possible so let me know What if I put the tranny from the car into the truck? Driveshaft problems the or....... I don't know!
