trade my truck...... ???
ok guys i need some help. i dont know what to do. a friend of mine has a friend that owes him a favor and says i can trade my truck the way it sits(bed, engine, and clip off) for a 1966 LWB fleet OR a 64-66 panel. the truck is in drivable shape with a 327 and the rock crusher 4 speed with very minimal rust. the panel is in considerably worse shape with rusted out rockers and bad floor pan corners. it has a IL6 but i dont know the size and ive been told it ran when it was parked but not good at all, it was drivin into the ground. i would really like to have the panel but on the other hand the truck is in drivable condition. what do yall think?
thanks, John

John, just my 2c, I love panels, but I'd rather have a pickup as an everyday driver. So, to me I guess it would depend on what you're gonna do with it.

I personally lean towards pickups due to the greater utility. Personally i'd get the truck then look into purchasing the panel at a later time when funds allow. But that's just me.

I'd go with what's drivable. It's not much fun sitting and looking at them when they're not running. Unless you have a bunch of cash to dump into the panel.

trade the panel, i've learned over the last few years that "potential" means nothing if you don't have the cash or tools on hand to get it done. You are much better off with the running truck to drive while you work on the one you have in pieces right now.

Re: trade my truck...... ???
Well, I would go for the one that you can drive.......I know how it feels to look at your truck in pieces and wish it was together.....so it all depends on how bad you need a drivable truck...
