ETsC10, I saw that today when I finally got over there...VERY COOL! I dropped off the 5 hp motor w/soft start for his compressor. He will be rocking and rolling now! The man does nice work!

Re: Windancer's stepside fuel filler

This is my first view of my truck with the new bed, primed and painted to match, with the new gas filler and the new wood on the bed floor.
ETsC10 and Livrat have a lot of hours and hard work into this bed swap and it turned out every bit as nice as I had hoped.
Livrat also installed all the new Painless wiring, and some other changes. I get to pick up my baby tomorrow!
I will post more pics after I get a few hours behind the wheel.
ETsC10 and Livrat, thanks a milllion!

Re: Windancer's stepside fuel filler

Ellen is also redoing her bed with the fleetside. Since mine is a daily driver and Ellen is using the fleet bed on her project we just got to mine first
She and Mark did a terrific job. Got the truck home today and am thrilled with all the changes. Will get some more pics up soon.

Re: Windancer's stepside fuel filler

Wow we have the same setup. I have been trying to figure out how to get the fuel to the tank. I really like your set up, any chance you can make me a filler neck like that? Seriously..

Re: Windancer's stepside fuel filler

Your truck is what gave ME the idea.
I ordered the fill neck complete from Hagens.
Livrat did the terrific work. He did the fab work for the flip filler, the connection to the Burb tank, the welding and the painting.
It is so well done that it looks exactly like a factory install.
Mark doesn't do much private work like this. It was a favor to get my truck back on the road. I had lost all electric power to the rear of the truck and got sick of patching it. I ordered a Painless wiring harness specific to our trucks and Mark agreed to wire it up for me.
Then ETsC10 posted about the bed swap and Mark agreed to help ETsC10 and me with that too.

I would just send him a pm and ask him.

Re: Windancer's stepside fuel filler

Kevin,

Cut out the middle section, turn the bottom section so it points to the right and weld the two together?

I can mark the two pieces to show were it should be welded.

Re: Windancer's stepside fuel filler

Thats how I installed mine last year. The only thing I regret is the direction of the door opening. For tubing I used stock boat hose from the boat shop.
