73+ SPINDLES, What all needed to convert???
If I want to run 73-88 spindles on my truck what would I need to convert it over? Could I just do spindles or do I have to swap the hole crossmember? I have a set of drop spindles and disk brakes off a 75 that I want to use is why I ask.
Thanks! |

Re: 73+ SPINDLES, What all needed to convert???
This will be going in my 68, so to make sure I have it right I will need:
73+ upper ball joints 73+ lower ball joints 73+ tie rod ends and custom tie rod adjustment sleeves. Is this correct???? |

Re: 73+ SPINDLES, What all needed to convert???
That looks right. If you are replacing all the tierod ends, you could also opt for the center link(boneyard pc only) from the 73 donor truck & just use all the tierod pcs for the 73, or maybe better put....just swipe all the steering linkage from the 73, including the pitman & idler. It should all bolt on. crazyL

But.....you could always just swap the whole cross member right?????? Seems like it would be easier?

I did this. You need this sleeve available at cpp:
http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...uck/CP4SCS.htm and you need to use 67-70 outer tie rod for use on the inner. Last edited by jlaird; 12-15-2007 at 06:20 PM. |
