c notch install ???'s

I'm looking at doing a 6/5 drop
3" drop spindle
3" drop coil
5" flip rear
belltech drop shocks all round

Will I have any turning problems??

Also those of you who have done a c-notch can you walk me through the
install process.

With a 5" flip kit how much travel will I have with out the notch.

Thanks for your help.

Check out the FAQ (frequently asked question) section http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=262547. This has alot of answers to MANY questions. There is a c-notch post for the 67-72 trucks. But for the 73-87 models look here.http://www.73-87.com/7387garage/chas...n/csection.htm

Re: c notch install ???'s

You will probably want to flip those numbers around. Stock, the trucks sit about 2" higher in the back so most folks do a 2/4, 3/5, 4/6... you get the idea. If you dropped the front 6" and the rear 5" it would give you about a 3" rake. That might be what you're looking for but the a$$ end is going to sit considerably higher than the front. As far as rear travel goes, without a notch you probably won't have much more than a couple of inches.

Re: c notch install ???'s

I have mine dropped with all belltech parts like spindles/springs and flipkit and removed two leafs.I didnīt install the c-notch and even with the factory bumpstop the ride is nice.Ok- when hauling weight comes into play the bumpstops lay on the axletube but they are about 3 inches high!
I think iīm lowered 4" in front and about 6" in the back and itīs a longbed.

Malo83,

Just out of curiosity, why does it matter what size wheels/tires you're running as to whether you'll need a c-notch or not?

Re: c notch install ???'s

You would think it would sit higher in rear but I'm 1" higher in the front. I don't know if wrong size coils were used in front but rear is all new with no mods. So doing the 6/4 drop will give 1" nose low when done.

I'm running 275 60r 15.

I don't know rim size but the bottom ball joint rubs just the slightest bit "the rubber boot" I have a polished spot around the inside of the rim.

KTW, I wasn't refering to the C notch when I asked about the rim and tire size, sorry for the confusion, I was thinking about the front end wheels with a 6" drop it's gonna be tight on the rim and tire package.

Re: c notch install ???'s

correct from ground to top center of wheel well. Strange look to it with larger space in front.
