Bumper history

If my truck came with chrome bumpers, should it state that in the options list inside the glove box? It does say rear step bumper. Original color is ivory with blue vinyl.

I want to put the truck back to original as much as possible with some personal touches (like the 350 under the hood right now)

Re: Bumper history

What codes does your SPID sheet have? What trim level is your truck, like Custom, plain C/10, or what? If it doesn't have a chrome bumper right now, i.e., it's painted, and the SPID doesn't call for a chrome front bumper, then the painted one is probably stock.

Re: Bumper history

I think it has to do with trim level. I know that CST's had chrome bumpers but it won't specify on the SPID "Chrome Bumpers". It will specify trim package however.

Rear step bumpers were options so they were listed accordingly.

Re: Bumper history

Its a 67 Fleetside....had a 6cyl, 3spd in it originally. Still has the 12bolt posi in it.

As far as I know its a base truck, no custom or CST, etc.. The interior said just blue vinyl.

HD springs front and rear, and a rear step bumper. The bed and front end are from a 69-72 and I am going to put it back to original.

I was just curious if they were painted and what colors did they come with. Being the truck was ivory, would the trim be normally white?

Re: Bumper history

yep, white bumper.
The rear may have been silver, I am not too familiar with the step and tow bumpers.

Re: Bumper history

thanks for the replies!! OMG, I think the white bumpers and trim on the nose of an ivory truck would look hideous!
