Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
ooooooo. That's right down the road from me. What am I talking about, I haven't even touched the one I have!!!!!!! But would be cool to have one of each 4x4 & 4x2. Hmmmm Christmas present for the wife? Maybe I'll throw out a lowball and see. Looks decent from the few pics there.

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
MAN! factory buckets, A/C, CST! Looks fairly complete. Someone ought to go buy it, if nothing else it might be a good investment. The driver door doesn't seem to have the extra bracing bolt on the inside that a 72 should have. I wonder if its had some sheet metal replaced? Can't tell for sure if it is a single or double wall top.

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
71 door but titled as a 72 or is it a misprint? I can't tell if the rear view mirror is on the windshield frame or the windshield..

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
IIRC a lot of the 71 Blazers had the extra bolt, a mid year change I think. Trucks first got it in 72. I also zoomed in on the rearview, looks like it's the bracket type but hard to tell...early 71 maybe???

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
Yeah no reply yet here either. That town is very small and the pic looks like a mobile home park? Maybe I'll drive around a bit and see. I should've done it today, but didn't have a chance. I'll post if I get a chance to see it or get a reply. My '70 Jimmy has the little screw things on the door? Is this what you are referring to?

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
In 72, there is a screw in a similar location, but it is recessed into the door panel and holds inner and outer skins of the door together at that point.

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
That thing looks like a great start.... a little high for me, but if the pictures are true, it is definitely worth the price.

Not mine, but now its listed on CL with better pics. Its in the next town down from me so possible to check it out if someone is serious. I got "permission" to get it myself, but don't want to give up any of the current projects! I haven't seen it yet either. |

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
Am I right to say that 5K is not a bad price for a fairly solid 2wd these days? wow just think what that thing would have gotten 10 years ago

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
It was a rust free Texas truck. Repairing rust ain't cheap.

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
It may be in Texas and seemingly rust free, but $5K; It would take a bundle to get it going.
Look at the one LUVXCLR8 is selling, and then say $5k is fair for that one. If $5k is the going rate, then you do need to raise the price. |

Re: Nice 2wd builder- south Texas
if it is as solid and rust free as it appears in the pics , then $5k is a fair price. it also looks to be pretty complete which is a big factor also. rust repair and body work are very expensive, with this truck you can see exactly what you are getting. there is no evidence of previous repair , so there shouldn't be any surprises when you strip it down for paint
