67 Glove box emblem ???
can any one tell me how the chevrolet glove box emblem is suposed to mount to the glove box.
do clips slide over the pins on the emblem before you push the pins in the holes.? or is it just glued on?? useing the pins to align it. i dont see any residue of glue on my glove box where the emblem was nor do i have the old emblem i do have a new emblem ready to mount though.

Re: 67 Glove box emblem ???
jc - if it's the old post style cast emblem with holes in the box then there is supposed to be inserts that go in the holes first....then you push the emblem into inserts. Don't try to push the emblem and inserts into the hole at the same time. I'll see if I can find a picture of those old inserts

Re: 67 Glove box emblem ???
I tried the inserts shown and they did not work very well. As mentioned, My 3M D.S. tape has held up for several years.

Re: 67 Glove box emblem ???
I have a question? Where can you find the textured paint for the glovebox? Also the that I have is outlined with silver paint, what shade could I use to replicate this?

Re: 67 Glove box emblem ???
John, there's about 8 sizes on the inserts. There are fastener specialists (like J&T in Syracuse) that carry all of them as well as molding clips, c-clips, nutserts etc. Their catalog is invaluable when you go to put stuff back together.
