Probably a 73-87 is gonna be the easiest to find. Not sure about those years tho. You need to start comparing frames. Maybe look at some burbs or maybe even a blazer. Check out the differences in the wheel bases.

Re: Best Frame for a 57 Chevy 4x4 Swap???
Fuel, I put an 80 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 chassis under my 49 International pickup body. I reccommend measuring your key points: (axle widths, wheelbase, cab mounting points, etc).
Then look at this site and compare. http://www.chuckschevytruckpages.com/framespecs.html If nothing else you'll find out what won't work. And I agree with mudder the 73-87 are plentiful and cheaper. Generally the older the truck the simpler the frame and most everything else is.

what we did was use the stock frame and use the 73 to 87 front and rear and transfer case, sterring etc. the front axle bolts right up, the rear you have to move the pads

Re: Best Frame for a 57 Chevy 4x4 Swap???
ive got a 55 cab that my buddy built and i ended up with, sitting on a blazer frame, something from mid 70s or 80s, eventually i hope to fix it up with a new body and drivetrain, it had a 396 in it, but im thinking HO454
