New fuel sender won't fit??

Did some work on the truck this weekend and one of the things I did was replace the fuel sender. Got the seat removed and the old one out and just as i suspected, the brass float was full of gas. well decided to put the new one in anyway but once I went to hook the fuel line back up I noticed that the new sender had a much larger fitting on it than my fuel line did. Pretty sure the fuel line is like a 1/4" NPT and the sender is like 3/8 NPT. Did i get the wrong sender? My truck is a 71 and i bought the one from Ecklers since they are like 20 minutes away from me. For the time being I just put the old one back in with the new float, but I'd like to get the new one in at least for the new strainer assembly. Just wondering if anyone else has come across this...

Also FYI those are inverted flare fittings, not NPT.

Re: New fuel sender won't fit??

I was thinking it might be something like that...but all the numbers from the truck indicate it is an original 350/350 truck from the factory. very interesting.....oh well i'm sure i can source an adapter from the speed shop or something to connect the two. thanks for the input.
