64 gmc streeing column

Hi,

Currently I'm Still In The Process Of Getting My Truck Together
It's A 64 Gmc It Was A Stick On The Floor, And I Like To Change It Over To An Automatic To The Column, My Question Is: I Was Told
I Can Get And Old Chevy Van Column From The Junk Yard And This Should Match Up, Has Anyone Tried This Or Know If This Will Work
Or What Year Would The Van Has To Be And If I Have To Make Any Major Changes To My Current Column " Hopefully It Can Fit Right In "

Thanks For The Info

Gilbert

Re: 64 gmc streeing column

72-82 vans it looks like.
I would imagine the process would be similar in our trucks (thinking of doing it myself). If I do it though, I would do the power steering upgrade at the same time; so with a power steering pump, the shaft length should be very close to 67-72s. But that's a guess.

Try the 60-66 Forum, somebody should be able to help you with the specifics there.
