factory a/c freon ?
I have factory a/c on my 72' and I was wondering what is the best freon to use? 1) a conversion kit from 134 to a R-12 system, 2) R-12, or 3) a freon called freeze 12? Thank you.

Re: factory a/c freon ?
I used Freeze-12 in a '91 Celica, and it worked great. If your system is intact and just needs freon, give it a try. R-12 is not cheap, and the Freeze-12 is available without any hitches. If you have to convert to R-134a, there's a few things that have to be done to make it all compatible. I saw an ad in one of the truck rags about a company that says they have a conversion compressor for our trucks that will run R-134a. It isn't a reconfigured compressor like ours uses, but a new compressor designed to work with our mounts.
