My 69 Stepside I scored today

Here is a pic of the 69 stepside i scored today. it was listed in the for sale section on this site, had to drive all the way towards Tulsa OK to get it and hit real ROUGH weather on the way back. all in all real solid truck only real rusty spots are on the bed and one rocker panel body mounts and corners are solid....in the picture it looks red.... when i got there to pick it up the paint is accually a metallic pink.... and it sports a purple bow tie in the grille... lmao....ill take some close up picks of the color when it stops snowin and i get it off the trailer. This is just the pick the seller had listed in the ad. what do you guys think?!

From the looks of the picture, it looks like it's been converted to a 67-68 grille, hood and fenders. Or is it actually a '68? Nice find though and the SWB's sure are more difficult to locate now.

Re: My 69 Stepside I scored today

the front end has been converted to a 68... this saves me a lot of time because like most people i love the looks of those front ends a lot better.

I saw that ad just before I lost electricity for 10 days. I thought it was a rattle can red from the looks of the pic. As long as it's solid, you'll be ok. What are your plans for it?

I work for a salvage yard and i have access to a complete 5.3L for 375 bucks with 104k on it, runs real good in the truck...so ive been exploring that option but as ive read in all the forums it is pricing to get everything done right... more than liking i will just put a 350 in it drive it for a while and get it painted. the truck is very solid and needs little attention other than the bed floor being gone. im very excited about this truck, like i said ive wanted a stepper for ever... heres a few more teaser pics...

Re: My 69 Stepside I scored today

I am trying to get this complete mechanically and road worthy by may of 08 for the 2008 midwest meet in nebraska a few of the members have been trying to put together. so im going to take care of all the mechanics to get it up and running and safe before i touch any of the body. So once things get thawed out and i can get my air compressor outside to air up the wheels and back it off the trailer i can start getting to it.
