Is this thing worth 2G in Alberta??

I really want to make a 1964-66 SWB and was thinking about cutting this one down.

Is is supposed to have next to nothing for rust and be pretty straight.

Rebuilt 283 and 3 spd std.

This guy bought it from the estate of the original owner and hasn't registered or insured it so it's legally a 1 owner truck.

If it runs and drives and the pass-side looks as good as the drivers then that's a good price.

I haven't seen the truck in person as it's somewhere in Lethbridge. Looks like I'll be going for a drive.

The guy is 65 years old and won't budge on the 2G so I think I'll have to bite the bullit as they are getting harder and harder to find here.

Re: Is this thing worth 2G in Alberta??

Appears to be a good, solid base model truck. Although there are no bells & whistles, ie, chrome grille, chrome bumpers, body molding, Custom Cab sails, chrome windshield wrap, chrome dash knobs, gauges in dash cluster or Custom steering wheel. That being said, all of these things can be added to a good, solid, rust-free truck.

Make it happen for 2K.

If I saw it local for that price, I would snatch it up. If it starts, runs and drives...bonus.

Looks like a nice truck to me, but I don't think I'd take a saw to her. If a short bed is what you want I think you should wait until you find one. That truck just looks too good to cut up, at least for me.

Re: Is this thing worth 2G in Alberta??

Trucks did an episode on shortening a lwb fleetside to a swb fleetside...that seems to be the popular thing to do now. This conversion has been done a long time before this episode, however, it seems that took it mainstream.

Although the production numbers of the lwb fleetsides were much higher than the swb fleetsides, they are still available. I have a few.

I agree! That things is way to nice to put under the knife. It definitely looks worth every bit of $2000 to me. Looks to be a very well taken care of truck. The absence of rust is a big plus!
