who has replaced outriggers?

I've got a pretty decent cab, but the outriggers are trashed. Has anybody replaced them? Are they spot welded on? Just wondering how hard it is to put new ones in.

Re: who has replaced outriggers?

I'm gonna play Devils Advocate and send this back to the top.

With that done, I gotta ask, "What are you calling 'outrigger's"?? If you and I were face-to-face, I might say "You not from around here, are ya?" Seriously, Brits have some terms that are "foreign" to us Yanks, like their fenders, boots, hoods and such. So, if that is the case with you, I am going to assume that your outriggers are what we call rocker panels....am I right?

Re: who has replaced outriggers?

Its the forward to rear support that runs under the cab. The outriggers or main structural cab braces/supports tie the rear of the cab and the firewall together. The cab supports are welded between the inner rocker back and the "outriggers". I have seen several over the years that were not even welded at the fire wall support....creaky cab??? but easily fixable with a welder.
Josh, I PM'd you

Re: who has replaced outriggers?

iwould have guessed he was talking about the front and rear cab supports. if so they are just spot welded to the floor pans and bolted to pillars and inner rockers

Thanks ebfabman!!!

BTW, I just watched ebfabman's videos. I would recommend them to others who do not have any panel replacement experience. Good info!

Re: who has replaced outriggers?

For the record, I called them outriggers because that is what they are called in the LMC catalog. Didn't know was else to call them?????????

So back to the topic, any advice on replacing these would be appreciated.
