What did you get done? 12/23

I didn't get anything truck related done. I had hoped to have time to work on my 77, but I spent time running service calls. I did get a chance to go to the movies with my family. We saw the National Treasure "Book of Secrets". It is worth watching but not quiet as good as the original.

What did you get done?

I worked all day.Got home, went to Wal-Mart and bought a tarp.Placed said tarp on wet driveway and proceeded to remove purple hornies off of my truck due to clearance issues. Now running open headers
I told the guys at work I will bring it in tomorrow.Thats the most road time it will see since the fall.It has been parked since October.

Re: What did you get done? 12/23

I got my arse kicked by my new tank with slosh baffles and no leaks. It took longer to reinstall the tank straps thatn taking out and reinstalling the tank. Only to be dissapointed by the tank having a bigger fill neck inlet than the original 81. The 87 tank has an 1 3/4" inlet where the 81 has a 1 1/4". Sucks I was hoping to be able to drive it with out it leaking, and take it to the exhaust shop this week.

Re: What did you get done? 12/23

Friday afternoon, I took off early, came home and picked up the aftermath leftover from the recent ice storm. After I got our house cleaned up I headed off to the in-law's and helped them clean up until it got dark.

Saturday walked outside to a flat tire, so I had to get that repaired, followed by wrapping gifts, and finishing the honey-do's.... Around 10:00 the power went out for 3-4 hours.

Sunday, a whole lot of nothing.

Scored a pair of NOS 77-87 Chevy truck doors still in the black primer and unused. Spent more than I wanted to, but these things are getting rare.

Re: What did you get done? 12/23

Went deer hunting with my dad, but unfortunately did not shoot anything.

I did strip some more parts off old 78 when I was out there though. Got the passenger side gas tank out to replace the one on my 77 that has a hole in it.

Re: What did you get done? 12/23

well, finally get to drive my truck again, after a month down in TX with a seriously underpowered Jeep Grand Cherokee - flew back Friday night, dug my truck out of the big snowpile covering it in my friend's backyard, rejeted the Holley quickly, and it fired right up! Yesterday I kinda-sorta outlined my new stacks exhaust setup, today I finally got to replacing the blown bulb in my tach, and tomorrow if the exhaust shop is open I'm getting the piping and hopefully on X-mas day the old horse will be breathing out up in the sky instead of down on the ground.

Dident do much except put a stereo in my jeep and pull the plugs out of the truck. I have a part throttle miss in the truck thats been getting worse for the last month. Plugs are actually perfect looking so I'm going to warrenty the wires out and see what happens.

More sanding and rattle-canning. I primed the hood, tailgate, roll pan and right bedside. Looking good. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Re: What did you get done? 12/23

Well I'm a bachelor from this past friday till the 29th.Wife and boys went home to Ohio.So saturday I layed around.Sunday scored club seats to watch the Jags kick Oaklands butt.Today it hit 70.Washed the truck, repainted center strip on the grille to match color of truck (pewter).First time I used black.Removed all the vacuum tubes, actuators, air deflectors from the stock air filter housing and welded them up.I'm going to paint it black wrinlke finish so I don't have to worry so much about the finish work.I'll have to wait on pics, camera is in Ohio.

I fixed the alarm system on my truck. All I need now is the headlights for a state inspection sticker.

Bought some Cleco pliers, clamps and fasteners on Ebay. Seller was local so we met and exchanged cash for tools. Ready now to clamp and weld some patch panels I bought from GMCPauls.

Re: What did you get done? 12/23

spent three hours pulling a harmonic balancer of an '84 straight six in a salvage yard yesterday and a 1/2 hour putting it on the boy's '81 today.

I also changed the oil in the wife's Maxima today. I'd rather take an ass-whooping from a big old boy than change oil in that thing!!!

The oil filter is located underneath two hoses and between the frame rail and engine block! Last time I took it to a jiffy lube they broke the oil pressure sending unit so it's on me....
