Not to hijack the thread, but I need a little info. Did all high humps have the shifter hole for a manual trans? What were the high humps for in the first place? Is a manual trans a different height from an auto?? Or maybe for a 4x4? I'm clueless here...

All 4X4's & I think all floor shift manuals had the high hump. (My column shift was a low hump)

To the best of my knowledge... The high hump was typically for the SM-420 and SM-465 transmissions these were the granny low 4spds toploader shifter. These trannys were typically a lot taller. the hump bolts on to the floor boards, therefore is removable allowing access to the top of the tranny. just my $.02
