stock front and rear ride height on the 1967 3/4 ton?

This 67 Camper Special I have started working on has the dreaded "red neck rake" that drives me crazy!!!! It has the stock coill rear with the factory helpers.....Im sure that front springs are sagging and that is contributing to the rake rear to front.

Any of you very stock 3/4 ton guys want to chime in here????

How much rake should there be? Maybe measeure your body lines or wheel well openings??

Does your trucks ride level, slightly higher in the back or MUCH higher in the back???

Measure the front (center of wheel opening or body line) off the ground and let me know what tire size you have...that might help too.

OK guys.............someone on here has to have a stock 2x4 3/4 ton they can measure the body lines or wheel openings for me!?!?!?!

All stock 2wd trucks sit with a rake.The 3/4t trucks have alot more than the 1/2t trucks.I would think the rear coils would settle sooner than the fronts unless the truck was never loaded.I had a leaf rear Custom Camper that never had the camper removed and it still had a healthy rake.That`s just the way they are.

I figured you would respond!!! THANKS.......It is pretty obvious from some of the "tells" on this truck it had a slide in on her. I guess Ill have to look into dropping the rear a bit or raising the front like I did the 1 ton!!!!

Raise the front,I purchased a set of 18" wheels and tires and had a slight rub issue when driving at highway speeds and hit a dip, tire would rub on inner fender, I found Rancho suspension made whats called a lifting coil, they claim it will lift 1 and a 1/2 inches, I messured before and after and got a tad over three inches.

Sorry, but forgot to mention, I also removed the small block chevy engine and put in a heavier 402 big block, which I suspect weighs a bit more, and yes it is a 3/4 ton, and it too HAD a serious rake, I didnt messure front to rear before adding new coil springs, The photo of truck is after the Rancho springs were installed.

WOW............thanks for the info!!!! Your truck looks great!

I did the same thing on my C-30 dually...lifted the front but it was raked so bad I ended up running a taller tire on the front. You can get away with it on a dually but not on a single wheel!!!!

On the C-30 I eneded up getting within about 3.5 to 4 inches of rake......I think I started at 9" !!!!!!

I would have dropped the rear on my truck,but it was leaf.I didn`t want to "c"-notch the frame.The camper leveled it a bit,though.I had thr edneck rake from bigger rear tires,too.But,that was the look back in the day,right?

Yep..........back in the day when you could cure it with a shot!!!!!!

The sad thing is......you still see it (redneck rake)!!!!!!
