Stainless Steel vs Aluminum gas tanks
Is SS better than aluminum when it comes to fuel cells. Has anyone installed the aluminum side fill fuel cell from classic performance products?
http://www.classicperform.com/Store/.../6372AGTBS.htm I have been looking for a while and this one seems like it is a good fit and the price is right. I tried looking for the fuel cell guy and can never find or get to his site, so this is the second best option i found. Any suggestions? I want to move the gas tank out of the cab ASAP, any and all input will be greatly appreciated! -Cepeda Last edited by Rigo's 70 C10; 12-30-2007 at 12:13 PM. Reason: clarify |

Re: Stainless Steel vs Aluminum
I've got a aluminum one in mine, works great. Feel alot safer with it in the bed. I went with a top fill though. You can also try nolimit.net

Re: Stainless Steel vs Aluminum
I put one in my truck, I picked it because of the price. It fits well and seems to be well made. I have not put a drop of fuel in it yet but it's in the truck, plumbed and wired.

Re: Stainless Steel vs Aluminum
the only thing about the side-fill tanks is you gotta cut a notch out of the frame to fit. just try not to screw it up like I did

Re: Stainless Steel vs Aluminum
Flea-bay is where I found it. It was new, aluminum, and was offered by CPP.

Re: Stainless Steel vs Aluminum
Wouldn't aluminum be safer, less risk of a spark igniting fuel? Other than that, it's lighter.

Re: Stainless Steel vs Aluminum
Fuel cell guy is a member here and built mine out of aluminum and it fit perfect with no frame mods!! and still cheaper than cpp or anybody. Mine is a side fill as well, and her are some pics, sorry I do not have one with the bed off.
