Head Light Mount Buckets
does any one know if the 73 chevy pickup has the same head light bucket as the 72 c/10? the reason i am asking is i cant find knew buckets for my 72. i ordered new ones from lmc, but they were for any earlier model. i called everyone i could think of and was told by all that the 72 bucket has not been reproduced yet. i called the local chevy dealer and was told they can only go back to 73. so if the 72 and the 73 are the same i can order them from the chevy dealer.

Re: Head Light Mount Buckets
You can just about be sure that the Chevy dealer does not have those parts. I have been looking for 1977 parts and those are few and far between. You can ask them to run the parts numbers against Vintage Parts in Wisconsin, which stocks obsolete GM parts. Some dealers will use them, others not. I found a NEW 1977 genuine tailgate thru Vintage Parts. Cost me about $425 with tax. LMC Truck wants over $700, I think, for that some tailgate. Worth a try. There's always the junk yard. I took my original 77 buckets to the plater. He got $85 EACH to redo them. They look great, but expensive. He said pot metal is very hard to plate correctly. LMC has plastic repros, but I would be leary of them as a bit of torgue on the mounting screws is required to get everything to line up and hold; plastic does not have enough rigidity to take the loads. Good luck. LBJ
