Truck loaded and away she goes!

Well as of this mornng The Green Machine is loaded up and on her way to the body shop for her transformation. It has been over eight years of saving $$$, buying parts, and at times I had thoughts of selling the truck. But I kept on course and now the journey of transformation begins. Now for the next 4-6 months I will be waiting before she will be brought back to the glory she had when she left the dealership in Tenn. back in 1970.[

I will be keeping the truck as close to stock appearence as possible. She was born a lwb and she will continue to live her life as a lwb. The 70cst will be given a complete make over plus I will continue making more mechanical up grades such as cruise, intermittent wipers etc.

I think there would be a crowd of angry people after you if that bed you bought got cut into a shortbed
There's enough shortbeds,I'm glad this one is staying a longbed. Here comes the longest 4-6 months of your life while you wait for it to be restored

Good Point 1969k10stepside...another good reason to keep her a lwb...after spending $1500 for a lwb take off I would be kind of nuts to cut that bed up. Then again I have been called worse.

Re: Truck loaded and away she goes!

There was a guy on the Blazer forums whose truck went up in flames while in the bodyshop ---

By all means, make sure you have some coverage for it, whether on the bodyshop's shop-keeper policy or under a comp. policy of your own (better and safer)

I know you love that truck, and the Blazer guy's story just made me cringe

Re: Truck loaded and away she goes!

Good Point streetstar...my insurance will esculate in value as the $$$ goes into the truck. As long as I keep tabs on the expenses on the truck that supports the increased value...the coverage will also go up.
