shift knob removel???

how do you take the black shift knob off of an auto column shifter???

I ended up buying a new shifter arm.It wouldnt come off

When I replaced mine I used a dremel tool to split the side.

I got one from a friend's junkyard one time. I had to pull like **** to get it to come off...

If you want to save it, set it in a bowl of boiling hot water too soften the plastic up. It'll come off.

And if you don't wanna save it, vise grips and a hammer should do the trick if you don't have a cut off wheel ore dremel tool.

I used a punch and drove the pin out.Then the lever should just pull out
