Old 4x4 Conversion

Anybody seen this before?
Thought it was kind of cool.

4wd drop axle.I don`t get the no u-joint in the driveshaft.It must have spherical gears which were alot weaker than a u-joint,we have come to find.

It might be a torque tube like Unimogs have.

That is kinda neat, although I bet if you had one and it broke, you would be up a certain creek without a paddle...
