Question Opinions Wanted

Here is the delima I am facing. About six months ago I bought my wifes grandfathers 71 GMC LWB to restore. Come to find out the rear of the frame is bent and can't be fixed right. I then purchased a 67 Chevy SWB from Teeitup(hopefully the weather will be nice so I can pick her up this weekend). The delima comes in as to what front clip to use??

The 71 GMC's front fenders are shot and have to be replaced the Grill, core support and hood look like they just came from the factory and the old man is used to seeing them on the ride.

The fenders on the 67 are toast as well. The grill is ok, the hood has a small rust hole near the letters which looks to be fixable, and the core support is toast.

Another option just occurred to me that is getting a 67 GMC grill and top bar and kind of making a compromise keeping the 67 look only going GMC

This will never be a factory correct truck as I will be running a 350/350 combo both trucks started as 292/4speeds. I will also be using the front end off of the 71 for disc breaks as well as the 3:73 posi off the 71 as both have 12 bolt rears. And lastly it will be converted to 5 bolt for the vintage rims I have found.

This is a tough decision for me and I honestly am looking for input as I have most of the pieces to make any of the options viable.

Thanks again for your input

Re: Opinions Wanted

any other time, i would have went with either '67s, but my four-eye has grown on me lately.

so, if the grill, rad support and hood are fine on the 71, and since the fenders are the same, and since thats what he's used to seeing on his truck...i'm gonna go with the late GMC.

but thats just me.
