I have aparts truck; it's a 89 2wd chevy shortbed. Im wanted to know if I can use the front crossmember and front supension to make my 71 4x4 to a
2wd. does anyone know if it will bolt straight on or do I need to mod it.

not a bolt in like 73 to 87, not to say it's not possible. it will require cutting and welding though because 88 and later crossmembers are intergrated (welded) to the frame rails.

i agree with dave2963, find an 73-87 crossmember. they are bolt-ins with dics brakes and newer suspension.
