Holy Handling!!

I'm not finger pointing as the site this came from is NOT a vendor on here- I had a customer call me and ask me to price match a part today so I went to a VERY common car parts website and found the customer was correct....they were only asking $1.55ea. for a common panel. So I decided I would BUY 50pcs. from them myself for that kind of money...here's a cut and paste from my cart:

Order Summary
Subtotal: $77.50
Shipping: $18.95
Handling: $547.50
Estimated Tax: $0.00
Order Total: $643.95

Great deal!!

Re: Holy Handling!!

cdowns,
I was getting ready to say the same thing. some "vendors" on eBay charge 10 times the cost of the item just for "handling".

hummmm, I should go into the package handling business. PUN INTENDED!!

Re: Holy Handling!!

The handling charges make up for the money that they are loosing selling a part for next to nothing. I can give away floor supports if you want to give me $13.95 each for handling...lol WES

Re: Holy Handling!!

Isn't it crazy how the part itself isn't even worth as much as getting it to your door?
But with charges like that I call or email them.. OR find a different vendor.

That's what I thought Wes! Now it makes sense why the guy was so insistant when I told him I didn't want to price match and to just go buy it there.

Re: Holy Handling!!

Yeah,I saw this site a few years ago and they they were selling the 64-66 cab corners for $1.50 each. There are several of these that have been there the last several years. Our company used to sell on E-bay but we did we did nor want that kind of image it gives. There is one of these companies less than a mile from our store according to the zip. They work out a an apartment I think. They won't sell you a part unless its shipped. Poor business practices.

Yeah...for .84 cent cab floor supports I'd be willing to pick them up

E-bay doesn't allow to much of that any more if the seller is reported.... UNLESS they are a big dollar seller, then it seems like they give them more leeway.

So, where's all this tin made? Certainly not here in the States, or is it?
