Seeking opinions...

as to what price I should hope to get/not take any less than for the 1959 Apache 3100. It has a six that may have a bad cylinder and a few minor dings but is a very solid truck with no rot. It's in Rhode Island where potential buyers don't have many rot free trucks of this vintage to see 'in the flesh'.

Anyone venture an opinion?

Re: Seeking opinions...

if youve got 3k in it , put it up for sale at 3.5 and be willing to deal , ive sold alot of cars and with classic/custom cars and trucks its not so much what its WORTH its finding the right person and how bad they want it . That is if your not in a hurry to sell

Re: Seeking opinions...

I totally agree with you, bfink. I may have to hold on to it while waiting for that right person. Actually, I realized I was confusing this vehicle with a completely other one when posting my last....I have $5500+ DMV fees in this one... and I still hope to find that person who will want to get it from me with no loss. Possibly a long shot, I know....

What would be the thing I could do that would be most cost effective ....prep and paint?... front disk brake conversion? (saving the original parts, of course)... hubcaps?

Re: Seeking opinions...

Don't know if this will help you or not, but, I bought my latest project for $6500 and I drove from Florida to Arizona to pick it up. I know it was top dollar but it was all original, unmolested, and original paint. It did run when I got it but I bought it with a plan in mind and that is what I am working towards now. If the truck you have is as solid as you say (original cab corners and good bottom doors?) then I think you can get what you have into it thus far. The trick is to hold out for the right buyer..........good luck. BTW, I would rather see you build it and post a "build thread" than let it go.

Here is what mine looked like when I bought it...........................

Re: Seeking opinions...

That looks like a real solid and complete truck. Like it has been mentioned, ask your price, (shoot high) you can always drop some. It's hard to find trucks that old in that condition.

I bought my 59 for 1500, and know I got a great deal (in my mind) that's all that counts. Mine wasn't running, but had a decent body with a froze up 283 and a 700r4. This is what it looked like when I bought it.....
