Project 71 "Southern Resurection"
Well ive been around for awhile now and i thought id start my own build thread for my 71 c10 lwb...It was recently vandalized and beaten to a pulp by my ex and her family including fertilizer in the motor, busted windsheild, busted passenger side window, busted gauge cluster ,4 slashed tires and alot of other things...this aint gonna be a concourse show car..just a daily thats decent and clean and my own...I have cragar ss rims with the tribar ss spinners for it..skinnys up front deep dish in the rear..not big rims 14s up front and 15s in back with fat tires.the worst part of it is the rust but its savable and right now ive got the motor partially torn down to replace the cam due to a wiped lobe and a new set of lifters its a chevy 350 with the turbo 400...im using the comp 268high energy cam and while i have it apart im putting a edelbrock performer intake on it along with a holley 4 barell ...im only the third owner and i will litterally drive it till the body is a pile of dust....ill update with pics of how its sits now..alot better then when i brought it back home after it was beat up by those sobs

Ok the plans have changed abit...im freinds with a the owner of a towing compnay and he has a 1964 327 turbojet that only hs 66,000 miles on the clock..its from a 64 vette and im using that instead of my other motor.and i just finished the redoing the cluster for the second time around..replacing the passenger window soon...but im getting there slowly...oh yea almost forgot im fixing to sell my roadrunner back to bulldog the guy i bought it from

Re: totally old school 71 c10 LWB
I installed my side glass at home, the passenger side went ok, the driver side kicked my butt. I figured after I did one that the second one would be easier, not so for me. I like doing all my own work but next time I will take my door and window to town for a pro to do. I scratched my new tint job doing it myself, argh. The side window install was the hardest single thing in my entire restoration... I have no suggestions, just feeling your pain on that one brother.

Re: totally old school 71 c10 LWB
Good to hear the progress. Those little steps of achievement make it worth while.
I am NOT looking forward to putting my windshield in. I may done the goggles and drive it to the glass shop when that time comes.

Re: totally old school 71 c10 LWB
Well today i did some work on her..not alot...unbolted the towers off the frame and there soaking in purple power overnight...alot of grunge is on the frame just cleaning it as best i can and then im gonna spray it all chevy orange along with the suspention peices..still trying to figure out what color i want to paint my headers before they go on my new motor..any suggestions? the motors all orange except the aircleaner and the truck is gonna be black with Black n' Blue stripes. As far as the motor pull went...it was ok only took us about an hour to get it out and loaded cause prior to him and the cherry picker showing up ..but I still got to get up to bulldogs towing to work on my motor..i dont have a garage and were freinds lol but that should be done in about a week or two....im anxious to move her under her own power again lol after almost 3 months of her dead in the water..but its gonna be a long ride to the end but im ready for the tire smoke and lynard skynard to come back into my life lol

Re: totally old school 71 c10 LWB
Ok these pics show the motor out, The new grant wheel and two of my cragar ss rims..the rears are off cause they need new tires but there deep dish and all four of them have the tribar ss spinner hubs on them...Also these pics have the silverado bench in them to..its a temp seat till I find some buckets I like that are reasonable..Ive been toying with the idea of using newer camaro seats or the dodge dakota setup with the console...Im prolly gonna go with the camaro seats tho so I can build a custom fiberglass console but well see how that goes..Ill get some pics of the replacemnt motor next time I go To wirk on it..Its a 1964 327 turbo fire with a holley 650 and an edelbrock performer..its gonna stay looking mostly original with the only change being summit tbar valve cover bolts and a chrome holley aircleaner...Ive been working on the hei swap i just aint had the time to get up to athens to work on it..but thats my only updates for now
