Was there a 1 ton duelly long bed made?
Hi I have been wondering lately if Gmc or Chevy made a 60-66 1 ton dually truck with a fleetside 8' bed. Now that I think about it I don't remember seeing a 67-72 either. When was the first dually fleetside bed made? The first I remember seeing was in the 73-80 class. If they did make a 60-66 Anyone have pics?

Re: Was there a 1 ton duelly long bed made?
i know they made a 1-ton duelly but ive never seen one with a fleet bed on it. would be cool to do though, grab a 1-ton duelly and get a fleetside LWB bed and some stepside fenders and cut the fleet for the tires, stick on the step fenders and there ya have it.

I have always wanted to make a step side bed for a single rear wheel like that, using fleet bed sides and step fenders, think it would look sweet!!! |

There's a couple of them floating around on this board, that people have created a dually fleet using step side fenders...

Re: Was there a 1 ton duelly long bed made?
I have a cherry factory original paint 46k mile 64 C30 dually with a hoist and flatbed with grain box sides. The frame is either 132" or 135" WB from the factory and from new they put a 9' bed but it overhangs pretty good. I do remember the data tag shows 10k lb rated chassis.
The dual wheel conversion could be pulled off for the single wheel look but I think the frame is actually 6" longer than a standard 8 foot bed if I'm thinking correctly. I truelly thought about conververting it to a 30 series single wheel fleetside. But it is just such an original gem with the original aqua blue, no chip original glass. Even has both T3 headlights and the interior is immaculate. I'll try and post some pictures in a day or so.

I think the dually was introduced in 73 as part of the crew cab.

1973............but you can make one with a fleet bed and step side fenders......If you have a norrow rear end you can tub the truck and tuck them under an original bed
